There are certain times and days of the week that seem to work best for launching press releases. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are good days to launch a press release for your app.

This is because most people are looking for news after the weekend and will be interested to read about your announcement. As you move later in the week, people tend to be less interested in reading announcements as they are preoccupied with work and other issues. Fridays are generally not as good to issue an announcement as earlier days in the week.

You should aim for your press release to hit at midnight the day before you want to issue your announcement. This will allow those in Europe to pick up the announcement first thing in the morning and start to spread the word. Then, your announcement will be available in the United States when people come into work or log on to their computers.

You can use the press release as the starting point of your marketing efforts. Press releases should be issued whenever you post a new app for sale on the App Store and whenever you have updates to your apps.
