PPC means Pay per Click. PPC is a way to organize campaigns to purchase traffic for a website. Please, note that we used the word "purchase", and not "drive" traffic. Traffic can be driven in many different ways, many of which are free, for instance, when we optimize our site, or by means of link exchange, or banner exchange. But PPC campaigns are the most effective ones. The best means to channel these campaigns is through Google Adwords or Yahoo Search Marketing.

It's a fact of life. Appearing on page five, for instance, in SERP, is no good. This is so, in spite of the hard efforts that webmasters and designers make to achieve such a result. We must remember that there are more than 3 billion websites, so showing up on page five, is highly meritorious, but measured in terms of sales, and prospects, it's completely ineffective.

Google Adwords campaigns are highly influenced in their final outcome for a number of facts. For instance, one of the critical issues is selecting keywords. Also, how much you bid for your links is also critical. Since you will be paying only for the clicks that customers do on your links, and not just for appearing, the way the links are presented is highly important.

It is always best to appear in the upper sector, just above the SERP natural listings, rather than at the side panel. This is so, because physiologically, users tend to fix their eyes on this part of the screen rather than on the periphery. This kind of considerations is most relevant when planning and setting up PPC campaigns.
